Capital Region Gyms to Reopen as Early as Next Week

New Yorkers will once again be able to legally burn off some steam as gyms and fitness centers will soon get the green light. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says it could happen by Sept. 2 and as soon as Aug. 24.

There are some caveats, though.

Capacity will be limited to one-third and masks must be worn at all times. The New York Times reports sign-in sheets also be mandatory to aid in contact tracing. And before any facility can reopen, local governments must complete inspections to ensure state requirements are met.
